Referee Clinics Coming soon in Waterloo!

We are pleased to see the growing interest in becoming a soccer referee within our community.Planning for our Waterloo United Referee clinics is underway, and we are working to have them ready to take place in Waterloo soon. Registration will open in February, and once it does, I will be sending a detailed email with all the information you need. Becoming a referee is a great way to stay involved in the game, develop leadership skills, and be part of a supportive referee community.

Referee Certification Levels

Small-Sided Referee (Ages 12+)

  • Officiate U8-U11 matches (5v5 or 7v7)
  • Certified by Ontario Soccer
  • No offside or assistant referee instruction is required

*You must be 12 years old by March 31 to register*

Entry Level Referee (Ages 14+)

  • Officiate U12+ matches (9v9 or 11v11) or work as an Assistant Referee (AR)
  • Certified by Canada Soccer, hosted by Ontario Soccer
  • Based on FIFA Laws of the Game, including offside and disciplinary actions

*You must be 14 years old by March 31 to register*
