Program Overview
The U10–U16 House League Program provides players with a traditional team soccer experience in a fun, supportive, and community-focused environment.
Players are placed on a team with a consistent coach and teammates for the season, participating in practices and league matches while continuing to develop:
- Technical skills
- Game understanding
- Teamwork
- Sportsmanship
As players progress through the program, they are introduced to referees and the formal Laws of the Game, helping them build a deeper understanding of competition while enjoying meaningful matches.
The focus remains on creating positive experiences, fostering friendships, and helping every player continue to develop a lifelong love of soccer.
Age Group Programming
U10–U11
- Players participate in practices facilitated by Waterloo United skills instructors and games supported by parent volunteer coaches.
U12–U13
- Players participate in a mix of practices and games throughout the season, supported by parent volunteer coaches.
U14–U16
- Players participate in a mix of practices and games throughout the season, supported by parent volunteer coaches.
Match officials are provided on game days for U10–U16.

TEAMMATE REQUEST
Waterloo United will make every effort to accommodate placement on a team with ONE other registered player if submitted by the April 15th deadline. All teammate requests must be one-to-one reciprocated requests. One-sided requests will not be considered. Should you have special circumstances or medical conditions that merit special consideration, please provide a note in writing once your registration has been completed. Teammate-Request-Policy
FEE ASSISTANCE
The City of Waterloo Fee Assistance Leisure Access Program is a program of financial support for permanent residents with low income living in Waterloo, that helps individuals participate in the City of Waterloo recreational and affiliated minor sport and arts programs. The assistance is given in the form of a credit to eligible individuals. Eligibility is based on total family income. Waterloo Minor Soccer Club wishes to acknowledge the contributions of the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families Jumpstart Program.
Volunteer Coaches
Our recreational programs rely on enthusiastic parent volunteers to help create a positive and enjoyable experience for every player.
Volunteer coaches help:
- Create a fun and welcoming team environment
- Support player safety
- Encourage learning and participation
- Help manage small-sided games and basic restarts
Coaches are supported by Waterloo United and may be required to complete Game Leader training.
