Coach With Waterloo United
Coaches play an important role in creating safe, welcoming and development-focused environments for players. Waterloo United has both volunteer coaches at the recreational level and paid coaching opportunities within the Skill Centre, District, IModel and OPDL programs. Become a Match Official
Match officiating is a paid opportunity to build confidence, leadership skills and knowledge of the game while supporting soccer in the community. New officials must complete an approved Ontario Soccer certification course before receiving game assignments.
Registration for Waterloo United’s 2026 clinics is now closed and is expected to reopen in February 2027.

Volunteer With Waterloo United
Volunteering is a great way to support your community and become more involved in the Club.
Our most common volunteer opportunities include:
- Recreational Head Coach
- Game Leader
- Assistant Coach
- Team support
- Club and event support
Recreational Head Coaches and Game Leaders who successfully complete the full season may be eligible for a $50 coaching credit toward future Waterloo United programming. The credit does not apply to the U3 Parent and Child program. Learn more here.

Volunteer Screening
All Waterloo United volunteers must complete and submit a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. Checks are valid for two years from the date of issue.
How to Complete Your Screening:
- Apply for a Police Vulnerable Sector Check through Waterloo Regional Police Service.
- Complete the Waterloo United Applicant Declaration Form.
- Submit both documents to Waterloo United.
- Keep your screening information current throughout your involvement with the Club.
Online applications are recommended. A supporting club letter may be required when applying in person. Waterloo United reimburses the screening fee after receiving the completed documents.
