Ontario Premier League (U20+)

Program Overview
The Ontario Premier League (OPL) Program is the top pro-am soccer competition in the province of Ontario, Canada. It was originally launched in 2014 as League1 Ontario, created to bridge the gap between elite youth soccer and higher amateur or professional levels by providing high-performance competition for clubs and players.
In January 2026, League1 Ontario officially rebranded as the Ontario Premier League, aligning with a broader rebrand of the national semi-professional system under Premier Soccer Leagues Canada (formerly League1 Canada). This rebrand introduces a unified identity across provincial competitions while keeping the same competition formats and development focus.
The OPL includes multiple divisions (OPL 1, 2, and 3) with promotion and relegation, a U-20 league, and continues to serve as a key development pathway for young players, coaches, and officials — preparing them for higher levels of soccer in Canada and beyond.

OPL League Structure
The Ontario Premier League (OPL) — formerly League1 Ontario — operates a three-tier men’s and women’s structure under the national banner of Premier Soccer Leagues Canada. OPL 1 is the top division, with promotion and relegation connecting it to OPL 2, while OPL 3 runs regionally with opportunities for advancement. A U20 division and League Cup competition further support player development and competitive depth across the province.
