ACTIVE START SUMMER CAMP
The camp is half-day for players U4 (2020) – U7 (2017). Players will participate in stimulating activities and games that develop basic Fundamental Movement skills in a FUN atmosphere.
The physical curriculum emphasizes the ABCs of movement: agility, balance, coordination, and speed, as well as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing, and catching. The emphasis will be on movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic principles of play within a fun but structured setting.

This full-day, technically oriented, skill-based camp will be open to all Recreational and Grassroots Development Players ranging from U8 (2016) – U12 (2012). The physical curriculum emphasizes the ABCs of movement: agility, balance, coordination, and speed, as well as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing, and catching. Technical instruction will be introduced through movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball. This includes gaining ball control in receiving passes, dribbling, passing less than 25m, Striking the ball on goal. Keeping in mind that small children are naturally egocentric, basic tactical concepts involving basic cooperation between players will be introduced. Game formats will progress from 2v2 to 5v5 as the children grow and develop. Each day will conclude with a World Cup Tournament in the afternoon. All activities and games will be conducted in a fun environment where the children will be allowed to make decisions during game-like situations. * Players can be dropped off as of 8:45 am * What’s included: Camp T-shirt, plus 30 hours of soccer. The City of Waterloo Fee Assistance Leisure Access Program is a program of financial support for permanent residents with low income living in Waterloo, that helps individuals participate in the City of Waterloo recreational and affiliated minor sport and arts programs. The assistance is given in the form of a credit to eligible individuals. Eligibility is based on total family income.
