KICK OFF TO SUMMER 2022 – RECREATIONAL SKILLS PROGRAM
This program is ideal for soccer players ages 3-12, who wish to enhance their skills, and for players who are new to the sport and would like to learn and gain more experience on the field.
Throughout this program, each session will focus on the development of individual skills (ex. footwork, passing, shooting) as players work thorough a curriculum development by WMS’s Technical Staff. Each session will end with a short small-sided scrimmage within the player’s designated group. Please note that the recreational skills program is not administered in a team/game setting.
Spaces are limited. Register early to avoid disappointment.

PROGRAM MODIFICATION (if required):
If in the event government mandates do not allow for game play at any point throughout the season, sessions to be adjusted to ensure distance is maintained and all mandates are met.
A focus will be put on play-based physical literacy through fun activities both with and without a soccer ball. While players may have to remain distanced, playing with teammates and friends is a key component of the program so interactive drills while remaining safely apart will be implemented.
The recreational skills program is not administered in a team/game setting and as such no teammate requests will be accepted.
Players must wear a mask as they enter RIM or Bechtel Park as well as in any common areas (ie washrooms). During the program, players may continue to wear their face masks. At this time, it is not mandatory to wear a face mask during training. If your child will be removing their mask during training, the advice provided by medical practitioners is to ensure it is kept in a zip-locked bag or small Tupperware container where it can be sealed. If this is decided for your player as an option, please have them bring one of the above with them to put their mask into whilst on the field.
** As the guidelines surrounding COVID-19 are fluid, these recommendations could change at any time *
